BRANDING FOR A NEW CONCERT SERIES
Under the direction of Justin Peters and in collaboration with Victor Clemente, I developed a set of images for the Grammy-winning Brooklyn Youth Chorus's upcoming concert series, Silent Voices. The series explores a number of topics including: the distribution of power and privilege, gender roles, and systemic racism.
I began this project by creating three moodboards based on themes developed by Carbone Smolan’s strategy team. This allowed us to present visual territories to the client to better understand their needs.
I sketched ideas to translate the Chorus’s goals into a set of visuals.
I experimented, first with printed images and later digitally. From there, I merged and continued my experiments, leading to five distinct visual groups.
After team discussion, we narrowed the selection down to three different concepts. Working with Victor, we iterated and developed colors for these concepts. Victor also designed accompanying wordmarks. After our final meeting with the client, we moved forward with our first concept.
One of the concerts is scheduled for the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). BAM has their own branded visual style. They modified our work to be consistent with thier materials.
